Driven by Innovation Since 1971 Davies, Craig was founded in 1971 by Australian engineers Daryl Davies and Bill Craig, who recognised the limitations of traditional belt-driven engine fans and set out to create a more efficient cooling solution. Their innovation led to the development of the revolutionary Thermatic® Electric Fan — a product that helped transform the automotive industry and paved the way for electric cooling systems now used in millions of vehicles around the world. Today, electric cooling fans have become standard equipment across modern automotive manufacturing, and Davies, Craig continues to lead the industry with cutting-edge cooling technologies engineered for performance, efficiency, and reliability.

Pioneers of the Electric Water Pump (EWP®) In the mid-1990s, Davies, Craig identified another opportunity to improve engine efficiency by replacing the traditional mechanical water pump with an electronically controlled alternative. This vision led to the creation of the world-renowned Electric Water Pump (EWP®). On July 1st, 1999, Davies, Craig released the first EWP® to the global market — the EWP80. This breakthrough technology revolutionised engine cooling by delivering improved coolant flow control, reduced parasitic engine loss, increased fuel efficiency, and enhanced performance. Today, electric water pump technology is widely adopted by leading European vehicle manufacturers and performance enthusiasts worldwide.
