EWP & Fan Controller Launched!
Iconic Australian automotive cooling manufacturer, Davies, Craig Pty Ltd announced today the launch of the updated Digital Controller. The Digital Controller (Part No. 8020) now offers a dual function, managing both the EWP® Electric Water Pumps and the Thermatic® Fans.
How it works:
The EWP® & Fan Digital Controller will eliminate the need to fit a separate thermal switch to control a vehicle’s electric fan. When fitted in conjunction with Davies Craig Thermatic fan(s), the EWP® & Fan Controller works by simply fitting the sensor into the thermostat housing, top radiator hose or engine block, connecting the EWP® and Fan, and then programming the engine's cooling system to your preference.
The EWP® & Fan Controller has been digitally configured to give you a choice of 75◦c, 80◦c, 85◦c, 90◦c or 95◦c engine temperature - selected at the touch of a button. To minimise the effects of 'heat soak' the controller automatically continues to run the EWP after the ignition is OFF for a period of 2 minutes, or until the engine temperature is 5◦c below the set temperature, whichever occurs first. It also boasts a real-time diagnostic facility.
All modern cars are fitted with a pre-set, single temperature, engine cooling thermostat. The pre-set temperature is a compromise between power and economy and delivers neither with full efficiency.
Whereas the Digital Controller leaves the Davies Craig factory preset to 85◦; its button selection system quickly giving you the option of 10 degrees either side. Such an innovative facility has never been offered on an automobile before anywhere in the world. It enables the driver to set the engine to say, 95 degrees, at which temperature it gives maximum economy, or down to 75 degrees when the cooler running will give maximum power.
“We’ve had a tremendous response to the release of our Digital Controller with excellent sales both here and around the world,” commented Davies Craig’s Sales & Marketing Manager, John Benson. “It’s a world first and has gained immediate acceptance for the added benefits the Digital Controller offers.”
While the Digital Controller can be left at 85◦c, the sophisticated EWP® allows quick engine warm up and more sophisticated management of the vehicle’s cooling system, many drivers may prefer to select 95◦c for an even quicker warm-up and greater economy, switching to a cooler engine setting when full power is required. It is as simple as that.
"Davies, Craig has made a considerable investment in production; this updated Dual Digital Controller is a premium quality product that ensures our advanced EWP® can exhibit its best work. It’s truly a world-class unit from every point of view and has been designed, developed and manufactured right here in Australia. The Dual Digital Controller is a great example of smart Aussie innovation and design." Benson stated.
